The Legal department plays an important role in the development of Loblaw’s innovative operations and services. Supporting business groups on legal, risk and strategic issues, the Legal department is involved in a wide range of matters. It is now seeking to fill two positions in its Corporate Retail legal group. Both positions will be located in Loblaw’s head office in Brampton with the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement.
DIRECTOR, LEGAL COUNSEL (5 – 7 Years Corporate / Commercial experience)
Reporting directly to VP, Legal, the Legal department is now seeking a Director, Legal, to join its head office. The ideal candidate will have 5 – 7 years of corporate/commercial experience gained from a major firm and/or corporation. Any commercial IT or procurement experience will also be of great interest. Excellent strategizing, negotiation and drafting skills as well as experience working independently will be required. This individual will be responsible for managing a report.
SENIOR MANAGER (2 – 4 Years Corporate / Commercial experience)
This lawyer will provide corporate/commercial contracting support to various lines of business within Loblaw including Joe Fresh, T&T, Loblaw Digital, Loblaw Technology, Loyalty, Data Insights and Loblaw Media. The ideal candidate will have 2 – 4 years of corporate/commercial experience gained from a major firm and/or corporation. Strong time management skills and a natural curiosity as well as the ability to prioritize will be needed in this varied practice. This position reports directly to the Director, Legal Counsel.
