Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP (“Paliare”) is one of Canada’s top litigation boutiques.  They are routinely involved in Canada’s highest profile cases, including complex commercial litigation, class actions, professional discipline and labour disputes.  They are trusted to manage the most sensitive and high-stakes legal issues facing its broad range of clients, including individuals, labour unions, professional regulatory bodies, academic institutions and public interest organizations.  Its lawyers have been recognized for their excellence in litigation by Benchmark Canada, Chambers Canada and Lexpert, and are consistently ranked among the top of their respective areas of expertise.

Paliare’s ranking reflects its ability to recruit and develop legal professionals, many of whom are ‘homegrown’.  The Firm now seeks to hire a Manager, Professional Recruitment & Development who will be responsible for developing and managing the recruitment, professional development and mentoring programs, and administration of evaluation and processes.  You will also be responsible for coordinating the summer and articling student recruitment process, as well as manage associate recruitment, onboarding and integration.  Further, you will develop and lead ongoing educational and professional development programs for both students and associates.  You will work with the Executive Committee, the Associate and Student Committees, as well as with the Firm’s Inclusion Committee on diversity and inclusion initiatives as they relate to recruitment, retention and advancement.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal professional gained from a leading law firm.  Any prior experience supporting student and/or associate programs and recruitment is an asset.  Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and organization skills, are essential in this role.  You should be innovative and forward thinking, be a strong team player who takes initiative, while also be comfortable working independently in developing this new role with the Firm.  Travel during peak recruitment periods is required for this position.

This is an excellent opportunity at a top tier litigation boutique for a lawyer who enjoys the law firm setting, but who prefers a non-practicing role.  It offers a collegial and team-oriented environment, and the opportunity to routinely engage with law students, lawyers and other legal professionals.  If you are interested in applying, please submit your CV to the attention of Lesa Ong or Lorene Nagata at NagataConnex Executive Legal Search at the contact information below.
