HOOPP continues to grow, both in size and complexity of its operations, and it is therefore seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join its legal division. This individual will play an integral role in setting the parameters of this position and act as a central hub for this function. This role will include monitoring all changes in relevant laws that affect HOOPP, both domestically and globally. This person will also be required to liaise with and provide regulatory advice to a broad range of stakeholders and business groups which will span the whole organization. Working closely with the Compliance team and reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel, this position, post-pandemic, offers the possibilities of a hybrid work arrangement.
The ideal candidate will have 6 – 8 years of regulatory law experience gained from a major law firm, corporation / financial institution or government office. An understanding of investing in private and public markets and banking regulations will be helpful to succeed in this role as will experience with regulatory management systems. Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism as well as leadership qualities will be valued as you will be interacting with a broad range of business clients including senior level management. Being a self-starter, adaptable and possessing the ability to work independently will also be required for this role.
